Blazers Bounce Back with Convincing Win Over ETBU

JACKSON, Miss - The Belhaven Blazers (5-4-1) bounced back in compelling fashion against ETBU (1-8-2) as the match ends by a comfortable score line of 3-1.

After conceding in 5 minutes in the prior contest, the Belhaven Blazers flipped the script as standout Forward Dalton Morgan slotted home a composed finish from inside the 18 yard box in the third minute of the match.

"It was important for us to respond tonight after such a disappointing loss the other night," Morgan stated, "We were disappointed with how the last game panned out so we had to make sure we picked up another home win tonight."

Scoring was a trend for the Blazers on the night as striker Enzo Guercio found himself back on the score sheet with a goal just six minutes after the second half started to double the Belhaven lead, making it 2-0 in favor of the home side, which was assisted by Dalton Morgan

With their backs against the wall, ETBU never backed down as the Tigers plotted a late second half push. ETBU was awarded a penalty in the 72nd minute of the Match, which they converted to add late pressure to the contest.

Refusing to let momentum swing in the opponent's favor, the Blazers would add icing to the cake just a minute later as Freshman midfielder Igor Rudolph's first regular season collegiate goal flew straight into the net off of a stout set piece delivery from playmaker Brady Jacobs

"My first goal couldn't have come at a better time," Rudolph stated, "I'm just happy we were able to respond with a win tonight that we look forward to building on in Austin next week."

The Blazers had 15 shots (eight on goal) on the night as Dalton Morgan recorded his 6th goal of the season. Enzo Guercio bagged his 2nd goal of the season as Brady Jacobs tallied his 6th assist of the season. Goalkeeper Max Rudolph had another steady performance in goal, making five saves in the night.

Belhaven's victory puts them at 5th in the ASC Conference Table as they improved to (3-2) in conference play. The Blazers will travel to Austin, Texas next week to take on Concordia University on Thursday, October 14th at 7:30 pm.
