JACKSON, Miss - The Belhaven Blazers (4 - 4 - 1) conceded early, dropping points at home against the Yellowjackets (5 - 6 - 1) by a final score of 1-0.
 
Sometimes, on the pitch and in life in general, things do not go your way. Everything can go smoothly, until it does not. Soccer is defined by end product. Unfortunately, it was the opposing side that had the last laugh.
 
5 minutes into the game, the Yellowjackets notched the first and the only goal in a contest that appeared to be bound for goals galore. The Blazers would respond with positivity and momentum going forward. However, Belhaven would be denied by the crossbar three times before the halftime whistle blew as it seemed to not be their night.
 
In the midst of a storm, the Blazers showed fight in the second half. However, the opening goal would be the decider in the match.
 
"We were unlikely not to score today," Coach Gledhill states, "But we must keep our heads up and rally together as a team as we face another team on Saturday."
 
The Blazers finished the match with 15 shots, with 7 of them being on target. Goalkeeper Max Rudolph made 4 saves on the night.
 
The Blazers win streak ceased at 2 games as they dropped to (2 - 2) in conference play. Belhaven will look to bounce back at home  Saturday night against East Texas Baptist University. The contest is set to begin at 7:30 pm.
