JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team capped off their regular season in style on Friday with a decisive 4-0 win against the Mississippi University for Women. The night, also highlighted by Senior Night festivities for both Belhaven Soccer programs, was a strong finish for the Blazers who kickoff postseason play early next week. 

The scoring was started for the Blazers in the 11th minute when senior Gabby Brentz, making her first career start, pounced on a loose ball in the box and scored her first career Belhaven goal. 

The Blazers added a second later in the first half when Abby Goff's 34th minute corner kick took a fortunate BU deflection and beat the goalkeeper to double the lead. Less than two minutes later Kyla Shaw scored the Blazers' third goal of the day from another corner kick. The BU winger found herself in space in the box and deftly finished for her 8th of the season.

Belhaven added a fourth in the second half after a ball over the top found Hayley Ruckle who was able to chip the charging goalkeeper to pick up her first goal of the season. 

In the match the Blazers outshot the Owls 17-4 in total with 10 of the Blazers' efforts on target. Belhaven also generated 11 corner kicks from which two of their goals were produced. 

With the win the Blazers improve to 10-7-1 on the year and turn their attention to the ASC Postseason Tournament. The Blazers will start postseason play on Tuesday as they travel to Belton, Texas as the #7 seed to face the #2 seed UMHB. Kickoff is set for 4 PM against the Cru.
