BELTON, Texas - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team saw their 2021 campaign draw to a close on Tuesday night as they were beaten by second seeded UMHB in the quarterfinals of the ASC postseason tournament.
Early in the match the Blazers were able to hold steady defensively and limited chances for the hosts. Just before the half hour mark Belhaven goalkeeper
Julianne Wilson was called in to her first save of the contest but the Blazers held off a late first half push from UMHB.
Just before the hour mark the hosts struck for the lone score of the match on a long distance effort from Chandler Jackson.
The Blazers attack was sparked late in the match with the best chance coming through
Alysia Terry who forced the Cru goalkeeper into a strong save late in the match.
Belhaven finishes the season 10-8-1 overall and competing in their third consecutive ASC postseason tournament in the three year tenure of Head Coach Kimberly Harrell. On the year, the Blazers outscored opponents 32-15 and allowed just 0.79 goals per game to opposition.
Kyla Shaw and
Anna Crane finish the year as the team's joint top scorers with eight goals apiece while Shaw led the team with two assists on the year.
Julianne Wilson registered 47 saves which was the top mark on the team.
