JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Men's Soccer team (5-8-1) lose out to The University of Texas in Dallas (10-3-3) at home in their conference regular season home finale 2-0. 

After suffering defeats in successive fashion, the Blazers responded well to begin the contest. Just 10 minutes into the match, Belhaven's #10, Ian Requilman had his volley saved off of the line by the Comets defender to keep the score level at 0-0. 

Shortly after, the Blazers battled as they had another shot saved from a Brady Jacobs shot outside of the box. As the half ended, the Blazers had all momentum as they looked to knock off the falling Comets. 

In a game that was bound for goals, the Comets flew out of the gate to open the scoring in the 56th minute. Just 5 minutes later, UTD scored another goal to increase the score 2-0. While the Blazers were resilient in their effort to chase the game, the 2 goals that fired the Comets ahead proved to be enough in a disappointing result. 

"We matched their intensity in the first half and were unlucky to have our shot saved off of the line," Coach Gledhill stated, "We were unable to grasp the result we deserved. We have another opportunity next week to get better and prepare for postseason play." 

Belhaven's conference record dips to (3 - 6) as UTD improved to (6 - 1 - 2) in ASC play. The Blazers will play host to the Mississippi University for Women in their final home game of the season as Belhaven will recognize their Seniors.
