BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Belhaven University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets on the road in American Southwest Conference play. With the loss, the Blazers dropped to 6-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in ASC play. 

After a scoreless first half, Kate Recendez scored the lone goal of the match in the 74th minute to take the 1-0 lead. The Blazers and Yellow Jackets exchanged possessions for the rest of the match as Howard Payne took the 1-0 victory over the Blazers.  

As a team, the Blazers had two shots in the match with only one shot on target. The Yellow Jackets finished the match with nine shots and six being on goal.  

Sybil Roberson and Sofi Restrepo were the only two Blazers to register a shot in the contest. Lauren Knorr got the start in goal for the Green and Gold and posted five saves in the contest. 

The Blazers will return to action on Thursday, October 7 against the LeTourneau University Yellowjackets at home inside the Belhaven Bowl Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
