MARSHALL, Texas - The Belhaven Volleyball team fell on the road on Monday to East Texas Baptist University in straight sets. 

In the match, the hosts jumped out to an early lead, taking a commanding 10-1 lead early in the first set. Belhaven pushed back but the hosts were able to finish out the first set victory by a final score of 25-10. The Tigers of ETBU were able to take a similar advantage in the second set and took the frame 25-12 to take the two set advantage. 

In the third and final set the Blazers were able to start on the front foot. After ETBU took the initial set lead, the Blazers fought back capitalizing on mistakes by the hosts to take what would become a 12-8 lead in the final frame. The Tigers would rally though and put together a strong final surge that pushed them past BU to secure the 25-20 set win and the victory on the night. 

On the day the Blazers were led by Izabella Erickson and Ellie Jones who both finished with three kills. Grace Eidson and Grace Laukhuf both finished with five assists on the night to lead the Blazers while Callista Moore posted a team high 12 digs. Lilliana Marlowe finished with 11 digs on the night as well. 

The Blazers will look for a quick turnaround as they take on UT Dallas on Tuesday at 6 PM in Richardson, Texas.
