Men's Basketball Picks Up Road Win at University of the Ozarks

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Belhaven Men's Basketball team won their third straight conference game on Thursday knocking off University of the Ozarks 86-77 on the road.

The Blazers started out the game against Ozarks quickly moving out to a fast 8-0 lead in the first couple of minutes in the game. The two teams would trade baskets for much of the first half until Matthew McMillan would hit a three with just over seven minutes remaining in the first half to put Belhaven up by 14 points. The Blazers would put together a couple of late scores to take a 46-34 lead into the half.

Belhaven would maintain their lead for the entirety of the second half but Ozarks did put together a late push to close it to a four point game with two minutes remaining. The Blazers would hold on though and stretch their lead back out to give them the 86-77 win.

As a team, the Blazers shot 54.7% from the field and 43.5% from three. The team went 18-25 from the free throw line on the way to the victory. Belhaven was led in scoring by Brosnan Cooks who finished with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists while going 7-10 from the field. Luke Couch continued his strong play ending the night with 13 points, joining Cooks and three other Blazers with double digit scoring.
