ABILENE, Texas - The Belhaven Blazers were on the road on Saturday, September 28, to face off against the Hardin-Simmons University Cowgirls on the pitch and the Cowgirls came away with a 5-0 victory.

Kendell Groom scored twice for the Cowgirls in the 13th and 57th minutes while Casady Jenkins, Jessica Boldenow, and Taylor Bernal scored in the 31st, 41st, and 51st minutes respectively.

Senior midfielder Jennifer Hosey, junior midfielder Pepper Ann Filbert, and freshman Sybil Roberson each registered a shot during the match, while junior Allison Sherman had four saves.

The Blazers return to action this week with a pair of home contests against the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets on Thursday, October 3, with kickoff set for 5 p.m., and then against the Sul Ross State University Lobos on Saturday, October 5 with a kickoff set for Noon.
