ABILENE, Texas – The Belhaven Blazers were on the road for their American Southwest Conference play opener against the McMurry University War Hawks with the Blazers falling by a final of 5-1.
The War Hawks scored two quick goals with Alyssa Daily and Sky Reynolds scoring in the 14th and 15th minutes respectively; however, the Blazers cut into the lead in the 16th minute with their only goal of the match as junior midfielder
Ashley Langham successfully converted a penalty kick.
Reynolds added the next two goals for the War Hawks in the 63rd and and 76th minutes giving her a hat trick for the game while the final goal for the War Hawks came in the 89th minute courtest of Brianna Caudle.
The Blazers fall to 5-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play and will be on the road again as they face off against the Hardin-Simmons University Cowgilrs on Saturday, September 28, with the match set to kickoff at 5 p.m.
