ABILENE, Texas - The Blazers' men's soccer team fell to McMurry University 4-1 in their American Southwest Conference opener on Thursday.
The Blazers traveled to Abilene, Texas to take on the War Hawks in the ASC opener and were handed their first defeat of the season. Belhaven fell behind early with McMurry scoring in the 7th minute. McMurry would tack on another in the 42nd minute and add a third just 20 minutes into the second half.Â
Brendan Koehn would find himself on the score sheet again scoring the Blazers' lone goal in the 64th minute but McMurry would add the fourth and final goal of the match in the 88th minute.
For the Blazers, this is the first defeat of the season as they fall to 6-1-0 on the year.
Brendan Koehn continues his hot start to the season scoring his 7th goal of the season in as many games. Koehn's seven goals leads the Blazers as does his three assists on the year.Â
Belhaven will continue their road trip on Saturday as they remain in Abilene to take on #17 Hardin-Simmons in a Top 25 matchup. The match is set for 7:30 P.M.
