JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven women's soccer team tied with the Berry College Vikings on Saturday afternoon with a 1-1 final score inside Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
The Vikings found the back of the net first in the 26th minute to take a 1-0 advantage. But the Blazers kept the head up, as Ashley Langham's goal tied the match up for the Blazers in the 40th minute to head into the halftime break.
Both teams had opportunities to score in the second half, but neither team could find the back of the net at the end of regulation as the score remained 1-1 heading into overtime.
In the first overtime period, Belhaven and Berry tallied two shots apiece as the score remained 1-1 to force a second overtime.
The next 10 minutes were not enough to decide a winner in the match as the Vikings and Blazers finished with a final score of 1-1 after 110 minutes of play.
Ashley Langham led the Blazers with five shots and one goal. Goalkeeper Georgia Jordan finished with eight saves and played all 110 minutes.
The Green and Gold had thirteen total shots with six of the shots being on-goal in the contest.
Belhaven will return to the field on Thursday, September 26 against McMurry University in Abilene, Texas for the first conference match of the season. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
