BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Blazers once again were on the road for their match on Saturday, September 21, as they faced off against the Birmingham-Southern College Panthers and the Blazers remained undefeated in non-conference play with a come-from-behind 3-2 victory on the pitch.
The Panthers scored first late in the first half as Christian Hernandez put the ball in the back of the net giving his team a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute which held up going into halftime.
In the second half, Hernandez increased the Panther lead to 2-0 with his second goal of the match in the 53rd minute; however, the Blazers cut the lead by one as sophomore midfielder
Keagan McEwan found the back of the net in the 62nd minute.
Junior forward
Dalton Morgan leveled the game for the Blazers as he successfully converted a penalty kick in the 71st minute, and then in the 85th minute, junior forward
Brendan Koehn edged a ball just under the Panthers goalkeeper's arms to give the Blazers a 3-2 lead and seal the comeback victory.
The Blazers improve to 6-0 and now turn their attention to American Southwest Conference play with a pair of road matches against the McMurry University War Hawks on Thursday, September 26, and the Hardin-Simmons University Cowboys on Saturday, September 28. Both matches are set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
