COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Belhaven Blazers Men's Soccer team took to the road for the first time this season to face off against the Mississippi University for Women Owls on Thursday, September 19, and the Blazers stay undefeated on the early season coming back home with a 4-1 victory on the pitch.
The Blazers got on the board first midway through the first half as junior midfielder
James Dempsey found the back of the net in the 26th minute. The Blazers stifled all attacking attempts for the Owls throughout the first half and held on to the 1-0 lead.
The Blazers quickly increased their lead in the second half as junior forward
Dalton Morgan scored in the 55th minute; however, the Owls responded with a goal in the 58th minute to cut the Blazers lead to 2-1.
The final two goals for the Blazers were scored in the final four minutes as junior forward
Brendan Koehn scored in the 86th and 90th minute sealing the 4-1 victory for the Blazers.
The Blazers improve to 5-0 on the season and will be back in action on Saturday, September 21, on the road to face off against the Birmingham-Southern College Panthers. The match is set to kickoff at 7 p.m.
