BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Belhaven University women's soccer team falls to Birmingham-Southern by a final score of 1-0 in non-conference play on Thursday afternoon.
 
The Panthers scored the lone goal of the match in the 32^nd minute when Abby Kay Choate found the back of the net to take the 1-0 advantage. The score remained the same to go into the halftime break.
 
The Blazers had opportunities to score in the second half, but came up short and fell by a final score of 1-0.
 
The Green and Gold out shot BSC 16-10 in the contest. Emily Malcom led the Blazers with five shots, while Ashley Langham finished the afternoon with four shots with two being on-goal.
 
Pepper Ann Filbert tallied three shots-on-goal and Peyton Papenburg registered two shots in the match. Sybil Roberson and Kaitlyn Summerlin each added a shot during the contest. Goalkeeper Georgia Jordan posted five saves and played the entire match.
 
The Blazers will return to the field on Saturday, September 14^th against Covenant College inside the Belhaven Bowl Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11:00 a.m.
