JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven University women's basketball team came up short on Senior Day to the LeTourneau Yellow Jackets, 61-58, in American Southwest Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter – Midway through the first quarter, the Yellow Jackets and Blazers maintained a tie score at 8-8. By the time the final buzzer of the first quarter sounded off, Belhaven trailed 19-12.
Second Quarter – There were moments through the second quarter that Belhaven pulled within three points of the Yellow Jackets. At 4:18 left in the second quarter, Kimberly Calhoun completed a three-point play after sinking a layup and free throw with Belhaven tailing 24-21. At the half, LeTourneau led 30-24
Third Quarter – Less than three minutes into the start of the second half, Belhaven tied the game up at 34-34 and eventually took a 35-34 lead by way of free throws from AaLiyaha Thornton. LeTourneau began to pull away towards the end of the quarter, taking an eight-point lead, 46-38, into the 4th quarter.
Fourth Quarter – Belhaven trailed by less than two possession for the entire 4th quarter, eventually pulling within two points with under ten seconds left in the game. LeTourneau extended the lead to three points with five seconds left, giving Belhaven the final opportunity to tie the ballgame up. Unfortunately, the Blazers shots came up short, as Belhaven fell to the Yellow Jackets by a final score of 61-58.

BELHAVEN'S STATS
- Lauren Brooks led Belhaven with 14 points in the game while shooting 4-of-10 from the field. She also had 10 rebounds to cap off her Belhaven home career with a double-double.
- AaLiyaha Thornton had 9 points and 5 rebounds.
- Peyton Papenburg, Kimberly Calhoun, Brittany Ford, and Alexis Caldwell each had 8 points on the afternoon. Caldwell added a team-high 11 rebounds.
- Caldwell had a team high 11 rebounds, while Papenburg and Calhoun finished with 7 and 6 rebounds, respectively.
