TYLER, Texas – On the verge of a Saturday season finale matchup against the University of the Ozarks, the Belhaven University men's basketball team topped the UT Tyler Patriots by a final score of 87-74 on the road. 
Belhaven and the Patriots battled back and forth through the majority of the first half before the Green and Gold began to distance themselves from the Patriots in the second half of the game, to pull off the 87-74 victory. 
The Blazers received exceptional play from a multitude of players including a 16 point, 12 rebound game from Brosnan Cooks, 11 points from Justin Jones and Jonathan Durham, and 10 points from Kelvin Pruitt, Nehemiah Womack, and Tommy McCoy.  
Belhaven currently sits just one win shy of a 10 win season, the last coming in 2014 before the Blazers made the tough jump into the NCAA Division III ranks. 
Through the first thee seasons of Division III play combined, the Blazers have amassed a total of 11 wins. Belhaven has a chance to finish with 10 wins in year four of the movement to the NCAA as the Blazers continue to build the program in a very positive direction.
Belhaven currently sits at 9-15 overall on the eve of the final game of the season versus the Ozarks. Belhaven defeated the Eagles in early January, 102-96.
