Abilene, Texas – The Belhaven volleyball team fell 3-1 to McMurry University in the ASC West Crossover on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Blazers dropped to 7-18 overall and 2-11 in conference play.
After dropping the first two sets 25-15 and 25-14 respectively, the Green and Gold rallied in the third set to defeat the Warhawks 25-23. The Blazers dropped the fourth and final set in the match by a final score of 25-11.
Callista Moore and
Chelsea Creighton led the Blazers with six kills apiece. Megan Noble tallied two aces in the match, while
Grace Eidson and
Kristin Fogan posted an ace.
Evelyn Parker led the defense with four blocks. Grace also had 11 assists in the contest, while Madison Maguire registered five assists and
Grace Laukhuf tallied four assists.
Kristin Fogan led the Blazers with 12 digs and
Grace Eidson collected 10 digs.
As a team, the Blazers had six blocks and had 112 total attacks.
The Blazers will return to the court on Wednesday, October 23 against cross town rival Millsaps College Majors inside Rugg Arena. First serve will begin at 7:00 p.m.
