JACKSON, Miss.– The Belhaven Blazers Volleyball team played host to the East Texas Baptist University Tigers on Tuesday, October 1, in American Southwest Conference play, and the Tigers left with a three sets to none (25-11, 25-22, 25-19) victory over the Blazers.
Sophomore
Callista Moore led the Blazers in kills during the match with eight, while sophomore
Chelsea Creighton and freshman
Vivien Marquez each added four kills during the match. Sophomore
Grace Eidson led the team in assists with nine, was second on the team in digs with seven, and second on the team with one ace. Freshman
Madison McGuire led the team with three aces and was second in assists with six, while junior
Sydney McEachern led the team in digs with 13 and was tied with Eidson for second on the team in digs with one.
Marquez also led the team in blocks with three, while freshman
Elaina Smith and senior
Evelyn Parker added two blocks and one block respectively. Sophomore
Grace Laukhuf was third on the team with two assist and freshman
Izabella Erickson finished third on the team in digs with six.
The Blazers fall to 7-10 overall and 2-5 in conference play and will return to action next week on the road as they face off against UT Dallas and Centenary College on Friday, October 11, and then face off against LeTorneau University and Texas Lutheran University on Saturday, October 12.
