HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter – The Blazers failed to score on multiple opportunities to open the game, as LeTourneau took the 8-2 lead in the first five minutes of action. The Green and Gold could not jump ahead of the Yellowjackets making the score 12-6 at the end of the first quarter.
Second Quarter-
Kimberly Calhoun opened the second quarter with a jumper to make the score 12-8. Throughout the next four minutes of play, the Blazers kept fighting and would tie the ballgame up at 16 with 3:55 remaining until halftime. LeTourneau finished the second period going on a 5-0 run to bring the score to 21-16 at intermission.
Third Quarter– After three consecutive made layups, the Blazers cut the lead to one in the opening two minutes of the second half. LeTourneau caught fire going on a 12-2 run making the score 35-23 at the 3:42 mark of the third quarter. LETU held on to the nine-point advantage to bring the score 38-29 going into the final frame.
Fourth Quarter– The Blazers and the Yellowjackets exchanged shots in the opening four minutes of the fourth quarter. Belhaven rallied back to cut the deficit to one with 10 seconds remaining in the game, but the Blazers would ultimately fall to the Yellowjackets to make the final score 46-44.
