RICHARDSON, Texas - The Belhaven University volleyball team fell in straight sets 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-15) on Saturday afternoon at American Southwest Conference opponent UT Dallas in Richardson, Texas.

The Blazers are now 8-8 on the season and drop to 1-7 in ASC action this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Early on in the opening set, the Blazers kept pace with the Comets.

- A kill from Ryan Hardin at the net evened the match up at 9-9.

- However, UTD would then find their groove as they quickly jumped ahead 20-11 later on in the set.

- The Comets would win the first set by a score of 25-13.

- In the second, the Blazers got down in an early 8-3 hole and were never able to recover.

- UT Dallas would increase their advantage out to to 20-9.

- UTD recorded 13 kills alone in the second set, and they cruised to a 25-10 set victory.

- In the final set, once again, UT Dallas never trailed.

- The Comets controlled the play at the net with another 14 kills in the set to set the tone.

- Belhaven committed seven errors in the final set, and eventually fell 25-15.

KEY STATISTICS

- Callista Moore recorded a team-high eight kills in the loss.

- Emily Carroll added six kills and a solo block and block assist.

- Lauren Whiting posted 10 digs and four kills.

- Meghan Luker tabbed a team-high 13 assists and also six digs.

- Sydney McEachern finished with eight digs.

- UT Dallas registered 41 kills while the Blazers were limited to 23.

- BU also committed 16 errors in the match.
