TYLER, Texas – The Belhaven University volleyball team fell Friday night to the UT Tyler Patriots in three sets. The Blazers fell to 8-7 overall on the season while the Patriots improved to an ASC best 13-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Patriots ripped off three straight points in the first set to quickly jump out to a comfortable lead.
- The Blazers put together a few scoring runs of their own in the first set but were unable to take the set, falling 25-16.
- Through the first fourteen combined points of the second set, the Blazers and Patriots traded leads with the score 7-7.
- UT Tyler won four points in a row to gain some separation, on its way to claiming the set 25-16.
- Set three looked to be back and forth once again from the beginning with the score tied at 5-5.
- The Patriots again gained momentum in the early part of the set to distance themselves from the Blazers, winning 25-12.

KEY STATISTICS
- As a team, the Blazers had 28 kills, 31 digs, 24 assists, and a total of 30.0 points.

Jackie Fredericks led the green and gold with eight kills, followed by
Carissa Pauda, and
Callista Moore with six apiece.

Grace Eidson and
Meghan Luker finished tops on the team with twelve and seven assists, respectively.

Sydney McEachern collected a team high seventeen digs in the contest.
