HOW IT HAPPENED
- Howard Payne took the lead first with a goal in the first 20 minutes of action.
- Belhaven responded with a goal of their own as Jennifer Hosey scored on a breakaway to even the score at 1-1. It was Hosey's first goal of the season.
- The Yellow Jackets re-took the lead late in the first half after scoring on a breakaway goal to take a 2-1 advantage.
- Howard Payne added to their lead moments later to push ahead 3-1 with under seven minutes remaining in the half.
- Belhaven had a couple of chances to slice back into the lead before halftime, but were unsuccessful.
- The Blazers trailed 3-1 at the half.
- In the second half, Belhaven continued to get solid looks on-goal, but were unable to cut into the deficit.
- Later on in the second half, HPU scored another goal to take a 4-1 lead.
- Jennifer Hosey would score her second goal of the match and the season in the 86th minute on a penalty kick.
