PINEVILLE, La.– The Belhaven University volleyball team fell in four sets on Wednesday evening against Louisiana College by a score of 3-1 in American Southwest Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blazers and Wildcats were all knotted up at 6-6 in the first set until the Green and Gold went on a 8-1 run to make the score 14-7 midway through the first set.
- The Wildcats' gained some ground on Belhaven, but the Blazers held on to win the first set by a score of 25-18.
- LC opened the second set going on a 4-0 run to give the wildcats the early lead.
- Belhaven could not find momentum to get ahead of the Wildcats and would ultimately fall in the second set by a score of 25-20.
- The Blazers would falter in the third set battle. Belhaven found themselves down early on and could never regain the lead falling 25-16 in the third set.
- With Belhaven being down two sets to one, the Blazers knew that they needed to win the set to keep the match alive.
- The Blazers opened the fourth set going on a 4-1 run, but Wildcats pushed back to even the score to 6-6.
- The set went back and forth, until the Green and Gold took the three-point advantage to make the score 20-17 late in the fourth set.
- LC caught a spark and scored seven straight points to bring the score to 24-20, with the Blazers being down by four points.
- Belhaven got another point in the match off of a service error by I'Nyah Kately, but Belhaven would fall 25-21 in the fourth set.
- The Wildcats held on for the 3-1 victory.

KEY STATISTICS
- As a team, the Blazers had 40 kills and a .233 hitting percentage.

Carissa Pauda led the offensive attack for the Blazers with 11 kills and added one solo block.

Sydney McEachern had the only service ace for the Green and Gold. She also registered 20 digs in the contest.

Callista Moore led the defense for the Blazers tallying four blocks apiece.

Grace Eidson added 22 assists in the match.
