BELTON, Texas – The Belhaven University volleyball team fell Friday night to the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders in three sets in American Southwest Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders quickly jumped out to a 15-5 lead in the first set and maintained the momentum to take the first set by a final score of 25-12.
- Belhaven looked to match the Cru in the second set, trailing 5-4 in the early part of the match.
- Behind 5-4, UMHB went on a 13-4 to jump out to an 18-8 lead. Belhaven trimmed the double-digit lead down to seven yet fell 25-16 in set two.
- The green and gold started off with a 2-0 lead in the third set after a kill from
Carissa Pauda and service ace from
Callista Moore.
- However, UMHB stormed back to rally off a 22-4 run and ultimately claim the set 25-8.
- The Crusaders held on for a 3-0 victory over the Blazers.

KEY STATISTICS
- As a team, the Blazers had 17 kills, 30 digs, 17 assists, and a total of 22.0 points.

Chelsea Creighton led the green and gold on the night with four kills.
Lauren Whiting and
Jackie Fredericks each had three kills apiece.

Grace Laukhuf had five total assists.
