JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven University women's soccer team picked up its first win of the 2018 season Saturday afternoon, earning a 2-1 victory over Louisiana College to open up conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belhaven struck first in the 27
th minute when
Erica Rempel found the back of the net to give the Blazers a 1-0 advantage. Cayley Gahagan earned the assist on the goal.

Erica Rempel scored another goal for the Green and Gold, to make the score 2-0 at the halftime break.
- The Blazers' defense held the Wildcats in check for most of the second period until Molly Edelman scored a goal to make the score 2-1.
- Belhaven picked up their first win of the season and
Kimberly Harrell earned her first win as Head Coach of the Blazers.
