JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University men's soccer team drew a tie with Birmingham Southern on Wednesday evening in non-conference play at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium. It is the second tie this season for the Green and Gold.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shots were scarce from both squads early on in the opening half.
- Both teams played physical, as there were four yellow cards given out.
- Belhaven had opportunities later on to get on the board but were unsuccessful as they went into halftime tied at 0-0.
- Dodger Rhone had two header attempts to lead the way, and the Blazers finished the half with five shots.
- The Blazer defense limited BSC to just two shots in the first 45 minutes of action.
- In the second half, Belhaven stayed on the attack, but were still unable to put a ball behind the net.
- BU had a great chance to get on the board first, but was unsuccessful on a penalty kick late in the half, after a foul by BSC inside the box.
- Thomas Blake kept the match scoreless after a tremendous save inside the box off of a header moments later.
- After 90 minutes, the match remained 0-0 and needed extra time.
- In the overtime periods, neither team was able to score as the match concluded with a tie.
