LAGRANGE, Georgia -The Belhaven University baseball team fell in the series finale 9-1 to the LaGrange College Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Panthers utilized five hits and a couple of errors in the bottom of the first inning to put six runs across the board. LaGrange led 6-0 after one inning.
- A slow roller up the middle off the bat of Jacob Gassert allowed a runner for the Panthers to cross from third, extending LaGranges lead to 7-0 in the fourth inning.
- Kreg Garner delivered another RBI in the series, this time with a single to right field, driving in Reed Bolton from third base to put the Blazers on board. Belhaven trailed 7-1 after four.
- A single from James Poropatic to right field allowed one more run to cross the plate in the fifth inning for LaGrange to push the Panther lead to 8-1. Another run in the fifth made the score 9-1.
- The Panthers shut out the Blazers the rest of the way to earn the 9-1 victory in game three and clinch the series two games to one.

KEY STATISTICS
- Evan Moore collected a double in the top of the third, finishing 1-for-3 in the contest.
- Reed Bolton doubled to left field in the top of the fourth inning for the Blazers second hit of the contest. Bolton ended his afternoon 2-for-4 at the plate.
- Kreg Garner drove in the first run with a single to the right side in the fourth inning. Garner was 2-for-3 with two singles and a run batted in.
- Dillon Carrell was 1-for-1 with a single in the top of the ninth inning.

UP NEXT
Belhaven will stay on the road as they travel to Clarksville, Arkansas next weekend for a three game series against American Southwest Conference opponent University of the Ozarks.
