JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University baseball team defeated the LeTourneau Yellow Jackets in the series finale on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day winning by a final score of 10-8 on a rainy afternoon.
The Blazers honored ten seniors in its pre-game ceremony.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Yellow Jackets took a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning.
- The Blazers tied things up at 1-1 in the bottom half of the first inning with a sacrifice fly out to left field from Kreg Garner to score Colton Fontana from third.
- Kreg Garner delivered yet again in the bottom of the third inning, hitting a sacrifice fly to left field to score another run and give the green and gold the 2-1 advantage.
- Reed Bolton hit his first home run of the season over the left field wall in the fourth inning to extend Belhaven lead to 3-1.
- Belhaven put a four spot up in the fifth inning with the help of a lead off home run from Will Costinett, his tenth home run of the season. The Blazers after five innings led 7-1.
- The green and gold continued to pile on runs as they scored three more runs in the sixth inning with the help of a walk with bases loaded and a single from Justin Acevedo to make it 10-1.
- LETU scored two runs runs in the bottom half of the eighth inning to cut the Blazers lead down to 10-3.
- LeTourneau strung together a five run ninth inning to cut things close, yet the Blazers ultimately held on to win a close ball game 10-8.

- The Blazers collected 12 hits as a team.
- Five Blazers finished with multiple hits in the ball game. 
- Colton Fontana finished 2-for-5 with two runs.
- Trip Benson went 2-for-4 and crossed the plate two times on the afternoon.
- Will Costinett hit his tenth home run of the year ending his game 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.
- Justin Acevedo and Reed Bolton each went 2-for-4. Bolton had two runs and two RBIs while Acevedo collected one RBI and one run scored.
- Tyler Wolfe picked up the win going 8.0 IP, four hits, three runs, two of which were earned, and struck out six total batters
