- The Blazers answered in the bottom half of the first inning when Cassidy Blount hit a two run home run over the right field fence, giving the Blazers a 2-1 advantage.
- In the top of the fifth inning, the Lobos strung together a series of hits, including a double that drove in one run to tie the game up at 2-2.
- With runners at first and second, Meg Garton hit into a fielders choice and with the help of a throwing error allowed Makayla Reed to score from second to give Belhaven the 3-2 lead after six innings.
- The Blazers went on to take game one by a final score of 3-2.

- The Blazers made a late comeback attempt in the bottom of the seventh by loading up the bases and scoring three runs.
- Marlee Blackwell's two-RBI double to right center cut the gap down to 10-4, but it would not be enough as SRSU closed out the game for the win.
