JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University softball team took care of business on Senior Day in their final home game of the 2018 season with a 6-1 victory over Sul Ross State. With the victory, Belhaven registered its 20th win of the year.
Before the game, eight Belhaven softball seniors were honored. The seniors who were recognized were Toni Wilson, Kaitlyn Blubaugh, Lauren Feagin, Makayla Reed, Cassidy Comstock, Jordan Herring, Meg Garton, and Kayley-Morganne Shields.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belhaven scored its first run of the contest in the bottom of the third with an RBI single from Kaitlyn Blubaugh.
- BU added another run later on in the inning thanks to an infield single from Cassidy Blount.
- Marlee Blackwell continued the hit parade with another RBI single out to center field to make it a 3-0 game.
- In the fourth, the Green and Gold capitalized again with two more runs.
- Brittany Chetta's infield single allowed Danielle Darmohray to score to push the Blazers ahead 4-0.
- Meg Garton later on connected on an RBI single out to right field which scored Brianna Dollar.
- Chetta would score from third on a wild pitch moments later as Belhaven jumped out to a comfortable 6-0 advantage.
- Sul Ross scored its only run of the game in the top of the seventh with two outs on an infield single.
- The Blazers did a great job defensively shutting down SRSU's offense in the series finale.

- Jordan Herring pitched a complete game tossing all seven innings and striking out four batters.
- Herring won her 12th game of the season inside the circle on Friday.
- Meg Garton and Marlee Blackwell both finished 2-3 from the plate with an RBI each.
- Brianna Dollar collected two hits and scored two runs in the victory.
- Kaitlyn Blubaugh and Brittany Chetta both finished the game 1-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
- Belhaven recorded nine hits as a team.
