JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University baseball team took on the visiting LeTourneau Yellow Jackets Friday night in a doubleheader ASC contest.
The green and gold won game one by a final score of 10-8 then slipped in game two, losing to the Yellow Jackets 9-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game one
- The Yellow Jackets scored two runs in the top of the first inning on three hits to take a 2-0 lead.
- In the top of the fourth inning, LETU extended its lead to 4-0 after a hit through the right side that scored two runs.
- Belhaven produced four runs in the bottom half of the fourth inning, with the help of a two run double off the bat of Kreg Garner to tie things up at 4-4.
- With bases loaded in the fourth inning, Antoine Watts lined a hit to right field, scoring the go ahead run to give the green and gold the 5-4 lead. Justin Acevedo delivered a two RBI single the very next at bat to extend the lead to 7-4.
- Will Costinett blasted his eighth home run of the season, a three run shot over the left field wall to give the Blazers a 10-4 advantage.
- The Yellow Jackets cut the Belhaven lead down to 10-8 after posting a four run top half of the sixth inning.
- The Blazers held on to beat the Yellow Jackets by a final of 10-8.
- Game two
- Belhaven got on board first with a solo shot to centerfield of the bat of Will Costinett to give Belhaven a quick 1-0.
- LETU struck back in the top half of the second inning scoring four total runs on three team hits and the help of one error take go ahead 4-1.
- The Yellow Jackets extended its lead to 5-1 in the top of the fourth inning scoring a runner from second off a single to the right side by Gonzalo Sosa.
- Back to back doubles from Colton Fontana and Kreg Garner helped pull the Blazers within two runs, 5-3.
- LeTourneau put up a four spot once again in the top of the seventh inning to increase its lead to 9-3.
- A sacrifice fly to centerfield from Kreg Garner allowed Evan Moore to cross home plate to trim the Yellow Jacket lead down to five runs, 9-4 after seven innings.
- The Yellow Jackets went on to claim game two by a final of 9-4 to even the series at one a piece.

KEY STATISTICS
- Game one
- Will Costinett finished game one 3-for-3 with two runs, one walk, and three RBI's. Costinett hit is eighth home run of the season in the contest.
- Reed Bolton continued his hot streak at the plate going 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI at the plate.
- Justin Acevedo and Antoine Watts each collected two hits apiece. Acevedo had two RBIs along with Kreg Garner who also posted two runs scored.
- The Blazers had a total of fifteen hits as a team through seven innings in the game.
- Hunter Sanford (3-5) picked up the win on the mound and closer Tyler Dowdy earned the save (1).
- Game two
- Will Costinett hit his ninth home run of the season, finishing game two 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
- Colton Fontana led the Blazers with two hits, all of which were doubles, a run scored, and an RBI.
- Kreg Garner had two RBIs on one hit which resulted in a doubled.
- Evan Moore ended his game 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Belhaven and the Yellow Jackets will play the series finale tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Senior Day festivities will start approximately around 12:45 p.m.
