JACKSON, Miss. - It was a dominating effort for the Belhaven University softball team on Wednesday afternoon against UT Dallas as they rolled to an 11-2 victory.

The Blazers improve to .500 in ASC league play and snap a seven game losing skid.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- UT Dallas scored the first run of the game in the top of the first off of an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead.

- However, the Blazers came ready to play offensively, as Belhaven's bats stayed hot all afternoon and got things going in a hurry.

- The Blazers scored three runs in the bottom of the first starting with an RBI single from Whitney Jemison.

- Another single from Danielle Darmohray put BU ahead 2-1. Cassidy Blount would later score in the inning to put the Green and Gold ahead 3-1.

- UTD cut the deficit down to one run at 3-2 in the top of the second.

- The Blazers continued to pour it on offensively with three more runs.

- A triple from Makayla Reed put the Blazers back out in front 4-2.

- Makayla Reed would cross the plate again later on in the inning and then a sacrifice fly from Darmohray scored Cassidy Blount to put BU ahead 6-2.

- Jordan Herring and the Blazers defensively shut down any momentum UT Dallas tried to create.

- Belhaven blew the game open in the bottom of the third with five runs.

- With the bases loaded, Reed drew a walk to score another run. Back-to-back singles from Cassidy Blount and Whitney Jemison increased the lead out to 10-2.

- Brittany Chetta's RBI single moments later scored the final run of the game at 11-2.

KEY STATISTICS

- Whitney Jemison posted a 2-3 performance at the plate with three RBI.

- Marlee Blackwell notched three hits, including one double, while also scoring three runs.

- Makayla Reed recorded a triple while posting two hits in total for three RBI and three runs scored.

- Cassidy Blount went 2-3 with an RBI, while Kaitlyn Blubaugh posted a 2-4 outing offensively.

- Danielle Darmohray notched two RBI with a base hit, while Brittany Chetta also collected a single and an RBI.

- The Blazers as a team finished with 14 hits.

- Jordan Herring won her 10th game inside the circle for the year. Herring struck out two batters while giving up just five hits in total in five innings of work.
