ABILENE, Texas - The Belhaven University softball team fell 8-4 on Friday afternoon at McMurry in American Southwest Conference play. With the loss, the Blazers' 13-game winning streak comes to a close.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Things were looking strong early on for the Blazers as they scored four runs in the top half of the first.
- Cassidy Blount brought home Kaitlyn Blubaugh for the first run of the game.
- Makayla Reed crossed the plate off of a fielder's choice from Marlee Blackwell to make it 2-0.
- Danielle Darmohray drilled a two-RBI triple to right field for a 4-0 advantage.
- Belhaven held McMurry in check early on and remained out in front 4-0 through two innings of play.
- The Blazers also limited the War Hawks to just one hit in the first two innings of action.
- McMurry would score three runs in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit down to just one run at 4-3.
- The War Hawks got things started with an RBI sac fly, and then followed that with a  two-run home run to left field.
- Belhaven's offense began to go stagnant as they struggled to get hits and base runners in the next three innings.
- The Blazers would not record another hit in the contest until the sixth inning.
- McMurry tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth after a play at the plate was ruled safe.
- BU had an opportunity to regain the lead in the sixth.
- Brittany Chetta and Marissa Rice each reached base safely with back-to-back singles.
- Both baserunners got to second and third and into scoring position, but the Blazers were unable to bring either of them home.
- However, things would take a turn for the worst as McMurry scored four more runs in the bottom of the sixth on two outs.
- Â The War Hawks first connected on an RBI double to left and then a three-run home run to push their lead out to 8-4.
