JACKSON, Miss- The Belhaven baseball team won game one of a three game series against Wisconsin-Platteville by a final score of 10-5 on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blazers struck first when Hunter Harsh flew out to right field, scoring Colton Fontana from third base to give Belhaven a 1-0 lead.
- The Pioneers tied the game up at 1-1 in the fourth inning after a Josh Moses double scored Collin Mormann for Wisconsin-Platteville.
- A bases-clearing double in the bottom half of the fourth inning from Kreg Garner gave Belhaven a 4-1 advantage.
- Two more runs for the Pioneers in the fifth inning cut the Blazers lead to 4-3.
- Belhaven extended its lead to 7-3 in the fifth inning with the help of two singles from Reed Bolton and Will Costinett, as well as a triple from Hunter Harsh.
- In the same inning, designated hitter Rob Felton singled up the middle, scoring both Will Costinett and Justin Acevedo to stretch the lead once again to 9-3.
- Will Costinett gave the green and gold another insurance run in the seventh inning, hitting his 6th home run of the season over the right centerfield wall. The solo home run gave Belhaven a 10-3 advantage.
- Despite scoring two runs in the ninth inning by the Pioneers, the Blazers lead was too much to mount a comeback for Wisconsin-Platteville as Belhaven ultimately won by a final score of 10-5 to improve to 6-14 on the season.

- Colton Fontana went 3-for-5 on the evening, with two runs and one triple.
- Hunter Harsh went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs score and a triple.
