ORLANDO, Fla. – The Belhaven men's tennis team came away with a close away with a close 5-4 victory on Monday afternoon against St. Scholastica in Orlando, Fla.
 
The Blazers improve to 4-4 on the season
 
In Singles competition, Mauricio Gonzalez fell 6-2, 7-6, 8-6 at the No. 1 singles position. At the No. 2 spot Tracey Hilaire dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision. Joan Soler dominated in No. 3 singles winning 6-0, 6-1.Yes Ikuno won in straight sets by a score of 7-5, 6-2. Owen Taylor was victorious in a close battle winning 4-6, 6-1, 1-0, (10-7).
 
The Green and Gold took two of the three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Mauricio Gonzalez and Joan Soler earned an 8-4 victory. Tracy Hilaire and Rajit Rohaan fell 8-6 at No. 2 doubles. Owen Taylor and Yves Ikuno took the victory at No. 3 doubles by a score of 8-6.
