RICHARDSON, Texas – The Belhaven baseball team finished up a three game series with the University of Texas at Dallas Comets, as the Blazers was swept by UTD with a 14-0 loss, Monday afternoon at UTD Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- After a three up three down top of the first for the Blazers, the Comets scored four runs in the bottom of the first to take a 4-0 lead.

- In the bottom of the second inning, the comets would get two back-to-back hits and have runners on second and third with no outs.

- The Blazers had a free base, so they decided to intentionally walk a batter to set up the double play ball. The Green and Gold executed the double play, but UTD added another run to bring the score to 5-0.

- Tucker Calhoun reached base first for the Green and Gold after a pitch hit him. Calhoun could not advance to second base to end the inning with the score still remaining 5-0.

- The Comets scored two more runs in the bottom of the third to make the score 7-0.

- In the top of the 4^th inning, Will Costinett singled up the middle to give the Blazers their first hit of the game.

- UTD earned three more runs in the bottom of the 4^th inning to make the score 10-0.

- The Comets added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth to bring the score to 14-0.

- The game ended after seven innings, making the final score 14-0 with UTD taking the victory.

- Justin Acevedo was one of three Blazers' that posted a hit in the contest.

- Trip Benson also had a hit for the Green and Gold, while Will Costinett tallied a hit.

UP NEXT
The Blazers will return to the field on Tuesday, February 27th, as they travel up Riverside Drive to take on Millsaps College for the first game of the Cowboy Maloney Series. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Twenty Field.
