- With the help of a double and an error, UT Dallas added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning to extend its lead to 4-0.

- Belhaven answered in the top half of the fourth inning with a Will Costinett sac fly to Left Centerfield, scoring second baseman Evan Moore on the play to narrow the deficit to 4-1.

- UT Dallas scored two more runs in the fourth and fifth innings by way of a single and a wild pitch.

- Down 6-1 in the seventh inning, Belhaven's Will Costinett homered to left field for his third HR of the season. Costinett's home run was not enough to mount a comeback, as the Blazers fell to the Comets 6-2 in game one.

- Game two

- UT Dallas' Connor Scruggs singled to center field scoring Rodney Corbin to give the Comets a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning.

- Back to Back home runs for the Comets in the bottom half of the third inning pushed the lead to 3-0.

- In the fourth inning, Belhaven strung together some good at-bats and got a lift when Gasper D'Anna singled to left field, scoring Trip Benson to cut the deficit to 3-1.

- A Belhaven throwing error in the bottom of the fourth allowed UT Dallas to push an unearned run across the board.

- Comets first baseman Barry Casey, who finished with two home runs on the day, continued to be a force at the plate for UT Dallas as he hit an RBI single in the sixth inning to give the Comets a 5-1 advantage.

- Belhaven gained momentum back in the top half of the eighth inning after an RBI double off the bat of Will Costinett and a fielders choice from Gasper D'Anna, bringing the green and gold back within runs at 5-3.

- The Comets were able to sustain its lead, defeating the Blazers 5-3, to claim the first two games in the three-game series.
