SHREVEPORT, La. - The Belhaven Blazers baseball team kicked off it's 2018 season tonight in Shreveport, Louisiana falling to the Centenary College Gents by a final score of 10-0 in game one of tonight's doubleheader matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first inning, Centenary Colleges Cody Crowder would single through the left side, scoring two runs to give the Gents the 2-0 lead.
- An Ian Graham sac bunt would score another runner for the Gents, in the bottom half of the second inning, extending to CC lead to 3-0.
- Centenary Colleges Gage Garber would single through the right side, scoring both Ian Graham and Cody Crowder to push the Gents lead to 5-0
-Three more runs would plague the Blazers in the first inning, as the Gents would capital of a couple of Blazer errors to take a commanding 8-0 after one inning.
- The Gents would add two more runs later in the contest, giving Centenary College the 10-0 victory over Belhaven in Belhaven season opener.

KEY STATISTICS
- Freshman shortstop, Evan Moore, finished game one 1-3 at the plate with one base on ball.
- Right Fielder, Gasper D'Anna, batted a team high 2-4 for the game for the green and gold.
- Centerfielder, Colton Fontana, ended the game 1-3 with a double, while Jordan King went 1-1 in his only at bat. As a team the Blazers finished with six hits and batted .222 (6-27) as a team.
- Tyler Wolfe (0-1) received the start today for the Blazers. Wolfe went 3.0 IP, gave up four hits, eight hits, three of which were earned runs, four base on balls, and one strikeout.
- Jackson Pilkington and Steven Luizza each came into todays ballgame out of the bullpen. Pilkington, in relief of Wolfe, went 2.0 IP, gave up three hits, one earned run, and struck out two batters.
