HOW IT HAPPENED
- Â Early on in the contest, Hardin-Simmons was aggressive on the offensive front. The Cowgirls fired away four shots in the opening stages, but the Blazer defense held their own.
- In the 21st minute, HSU struck first with a goal inside the box to take a 1-0 advantage.
- Ten minutes later, Hardin-Simmons was on the board again with a goal on a header off of a free kick to make it 2-0.
- With less than a minute left in the half, HSU scored again off of a header on a corner kick to make it 3-0.
- Belhaven was limited to just one shot in the first half of action.
- 12 seconds into the second half, the Cowgirls drove quickly down the field for another goal to push their advantage out to 4-0.
- HSU added another goal with under 25 minutes left in the second half.
- Belhaven's only shot on-goal in the contest came from Yadi Satterwhite in the second half.
- The final goal of the match was scored in the 88th minute of action by Hardin-Simmons.Â
