JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University women's soccer team defeated Mississippi University for Women 2-0 on Wednesday evening at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium in non-conference action.
With the victory, the Blazers snap a six-match losing streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belhaven came out and dominated the possession in the opening half.
- The Blazers registered three shots on-goal in the half.
- In the 18th minute of action, Belhaven struck first with a goal from Erica Rempel inside the box for her fifth goal of the year.
- Jennifer Hosey provided the assist on the made goal.
- The Blazers' defense held the Owls to just one shot in the first and no shots on-goal.
- In the second half of play, things continued to look up for the Blazers offensively and defensively.
- Suzanne Dease scored the second goal of the match off of a corner kick from Amber Thomas with under 10 minutes left in the half to put BU ahead 2-0.
- Belhaven controlled the possession in the second half as well and kept MUW's opportunities at bay throughout the second half.
