MARSHALL, Texas. – The Belhaven University volleyball team fell in five sets at East Texas Baptist University on Friday evening in American Southwest Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blazers started off the match on a strong note with a close 27-25 victory in the first set.
- Belhaven had a total of 18 kills in the opening set with
Callista Moore earning the final kill.
- The Tigers and Blazers went back and forth until the halfway point of the second set.
- Tied 12-12, ETBU went on a five-point run and led 17-12 in the second set.
- The Tigers would catch spark late in the second set and would finish the set firing off four straight points to end the set. ETBU won the second set by a score of 25-17 going into the third set knotted up at 1-1.
- The Tigers carried their momentum over to the third set. Belhaven was leading 10-6 until the Tigers ended the third set going on a 19-4 run to bring the score to 25-14.
- Down 2-1, the Blazers knew that this was a must win set and they did just that. Late in the fourth set, Belhaven and East Texas Baptist were tied 20-20.
- Belhaven clinched the 25-23 victory in the fourth set to force a winner takes all in the fifth set.
- ETBU opened the final set going on a 4-0 run until
Ryan Hardin got the Blazers on the board.
- It was a hard fought fifth set, but the Tigers claimed the match at 15-11.

Jackie Fredericks led the Blazers with 17 kills in the match.
