Hale's Goal Lifts Blazers Past McMurry

JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University men's soccer team defeated the McMurry Warhawks on Thursday night by a final score of 1-0 in American Southwest Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Blazers and Warhawks held each other scoreless for the first twenty-four minutes of the contest

- In that stretch, Belhaven registered two shots compared to McMurry's one shot.

- In the 26th minute of play, Alex Hale scored the first goal of the game for either team with a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead.

- Neither team scored for the remainder of the half as Belhaven took a 1-0 lead into the break.

- In the second half of play, the both teams picked up the intensity, attempting more shots by both sides.

- Both teams goalies played solid defense for the entire second half, producing multiple saves to hold each team scoreless.

- At the end of regulation, the Blazers held on to defeat the Warhawks 1-0 with the help of Alex Hale's 26th minute penalty kick.
