PINEVILLE, La - Turnovers and Penalties hurt the Blazers chances to knock off Louisiana College in ASC play Saturday night in Pineville, La.
Belhaven had more total offensive yards than the Wildcats and got great play from the defensive side of the ball, yet the Green and Gold fell by a final of 42-7.
With the loss, the Blazers slip to 1-7 overall and 1-6 in ASC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blazers defense held its own against the Wildcats in the first quarter, surrendering zero points and taking a 0-0 tie into the second quarter.
- Within twenty-four seconds into the start of the second quarter, the Wildcats struck first with a 15-yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0.
- After a costly Belhaven turnover that set up the Wildcats in Red Zone, LC took one play to march into the endzone to take a 14-0 lead.
- Turnovers continued to mount for the Blazers as an interception by the Wildcats eventually set up LC for another touchdown before the half.
- The Wildcats took a commanding 21-0 lead into the half.
- Well into the third quarter, the Wildcats struck again with a six-play fifty-six yard scoring drive that was capped off with a twenty-seven yard touchdown reception to give LC a 28-0 advantage.
- Belhaven utilized a seven play seventy-two yard drive that resulted in a twenty-one yard touchdown run by Brad Foley with six-seconds remaining in the third quarter. Belhaven trailed 28-7.
- A four-play thirty-one yard drive led to another Wildcat touchdown. Ten-seconds later a Belhaven turnover put LC on top 42-7.
- Belhaven could not put together anymore scoring drives as the Blazers fell by a final of 42-7.

KEY STATISTICS
- Before exiting the contest with an injury Hunter McEachern was 3-of-7 for 20 yards. He also added five rushing attempts for 12-yards.
- Running back, Brad Foley, finished with 19 rushes for 114 rushing yards, one touchdown, four receptions for 23-yards, and three punt returns for 66-yards.
- Gabriel Wilson finished with one reception for 40-yards. His reception set up the lone touchdown for Belhaven.
- Denarius Noel led the way on the defensive side with 13 total tackles in the contest. He also posted 1.5 tackles for loss.
- Seth Gatson registered four total tackles in the defensive secondary, including two interceptions and one pass break up.

UP NEXT
Belhaven will return home to take on the Hardin-Simmons Cowboys next Saturday, November 3, in the Belhaven Bowl Stadium for Homecoming and Senior day. The game is slated to kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
