Blazers Fall In Straight Sets To Aurora University

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Belhaven University volleyball team lost in straight sets on the road on Friday afternoon against Aurora University in non–conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
- The Spartans and the Blazers went back and forth for the majority of the first set.

- Down 19-18 late in the first set, Aurora went on a 6-2 run to end the first set by a score of 25-20.

- The Blazers struggled to put points on the board and found themselves trailing 12-4 midway through the second set.

- Down 20-12, the Green and Gold went on a 5-2 run to bring the score to 22-17.

- However, the Spartans would close out the set by winning the final three points to claim the 25-17 set victory.

- Aurora dominated the set and never allowed Belhaven to find an offensive spark.

- The Spartans went on to earn the 25-10 set victory and the match.

KEY STATISTICS
 
- Emily Carroll led the Blazers with seven kills and 17 total attacks.

- Ryan Hardin posted six kills, one dig, and one solo block.

- Carissa Pauda tallied five kills during the contest.

- Callista Moore added three kills and had a .750 attacking percentage.

- Meghan Luker led the team with 10 assists.

- Lauren Whiting had a team-high of 11 digs in the match.
