JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven University volleyball team fell in five sets at Millsaps College Tuesday evening in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
- The first set went back and forth between both teams as they exchanged points throughout the midpoint of the first set.

- Down 22-19 in the first set, the Green and Gold scored four straight points to take a 23-22 advantage over the Majors.

- Belhaven claimed three of the next five points to take the first set by a score of 26-24.

- The Majors found some momentum and took a quick 11-2 lead to open the second set.

- Millsaps went on to dominate the set, as the Blazers fell 25-9 in the second set.

- The Blazers opened the third set leading 10-7 before Millsaps took a timeout.

- The Majors would fight back and take the 18-17 advantage during the ladder part of the match.

- Belhaven went on an 8-2 run to earn the 25-20 third-set victory.

-  The Majors carried their momentum over into the fourth set. Belhaven was playing from behind for most of the match and could not fully catch up with Millsaps and would eventually come up short by a score 25-19.

- Millsaps quickly jumped to a 6-1 lead to open the fifth and final set.

- The Blazers fought back and narrowed the lead to 13-11, but the majors went on to earn the next two points to claim in the fifth set and claim the match victory.

KEY STATISTICS
 
- Ryan Hardin and Lauren Whiting finished the match with 14 kills apiece. Whiting added two service aces, two assists, and one solo block.

- Meghan Luker finished the contest with 24 assists.

- Carissa Pauda registered eight kills and 28 total attacks during the contest.

- Sydney McEachern posted 33 digs in the match.

- Grace Eidson added 18 assists.

- As a team, the Blazers finished the match with 54 kills, five service aces and 50 assists.
