Men’s Soccer Stumbles Against Sul Ross State

ALPINE, Texas– The Belhaven University men's soccer team fell 4-2 to the Sul Ross State University Lobos on Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Sul Ross started the scoring in the 35thminute with a goal from Angel Pardo to take the 1-0 advantage.

- Just before the halftime break, the Lobos netted another goal to take a 2-0 lead.

- The Lobos defense was strong in the first half, as the Blazers only had one shot.

- At intermission, Sul Ross led Belhaven 2-0.

- The Lobos found the back of the net early in the second period to push their lead to 3-0.

- Alex Hale netted his 10thgoal on the season in the 54thminute to put the Blazers on the board. Nathan Ratzlaff had the assist on Hale's goal.

- The Green and Gold did not go down without a fight, as Lalesh Hadji netted a penalty kick goal for his third goal on the season and made the score 3-2.

- Sul Ross added an insurance goal in the 80thminute to bring the score to 4-2.

- The Blazers' rally fell short, as the Lobos sealed the deal to make the final score 4-2.
