BELTON, Texas - The Belhaven University men's basketball team slipped on the road again in conference play on Saturday afternoon at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in a 105-85 defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belhaven shot the ball well from behind the arc early on and posted an 18-13 advantage just over five minutes into the action.
- The Cru re-took the lead after a 14-6 run in the span of four minutes to lead 27-24 at the midway point of the opening half.
- The Blazers held their own on the offensive end and found themselves back with the lead at 38-34 with just over three minutes to play in the half.
- Mary Hardin-Baylor would come storming back to close the half on a 10-0 run and kill the Blazers' momentum with a 46-38 lead at halftime.
- There were a total of 10 lead changes in the opening half.
- Belhaven struggled to keep pace with UMHB in the second half, as the Crusaders quickly punched their lead out to double digits.
- However, a quick spurt from the Blazers offense closed the gap down to seven at 62-55, following a three point shot from Traevian Leatherwood.
- The lead was eventually trimmed all the way down to four at 68-64 with 12 minutes remaining.
- Belhaven was unable to make the deficit any close for the remainder of the contest, as UMHB would go on a 14-5 run in three minutes of game time to extend their advantage out to 13 at 82-69.

KEY STATISTICS
- Traevian Leatherwood accumulated a season-high 19 points on 7-11 shooting from the field. Leatherwood also knocked down 4-5 free throw attempts.
- Rick Hodum posted 17 points on 6-12 shooting and also collected a team-high five made three point field goals.
- Isiah Brown tabbed 13 points and five rebounds, while Brent Webber finished with 12 points respectively.
- John Works also chipped in with eight points.
- Kyle Patterson Sr. dished out a team-high five assists and had three steals.
- Belhaven shot 47 percent from the field and connected on 10 three point field goals.
- The Blazers also finished with 10 fast break points and 34 points scored inside the paint.
- Mary Hardin-Baylor shot nearly 55 percent from the floor and totaled 56 points in the paint.
