JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University men's basketball team fought hard Thursday night against one of the toughest teams in the American Southwest Conference, yet a second-half surge by the LeTourneau Yellowjackets would be too much for the Blazers, as Belhaven would ultimately fall by a final score of 115-88.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blazers fell behind early in the first seven and a half minutes of play, trailing 20-12.
- Belhaven's offense quickly gained some momentum, going on a 17-6 run to give the Blazers a 29-26 lead with just under eight minutes remaining in the first half.
- The next four minutes would be a back and worth game as both teams were even at 34-34 with 3:55 left until half time.
- LeTourneau quickly hit it's stride once again as the Yellowjackets would go on a 10-2 run over the next two minutes. By the end of the half, the Yellowjackets held a 46-40 lead.
- After a hard fought first half, the second half would be a make or break half for the Blazers.
- Unfortunately, LeTourneau's offense would take off in the second half, outscoring the Blazers, 69-48, in the final twenty minutes of the game.
- LeTourneau (13-3) would ultimately go on to beat the Blazers by a final score of 115-88.

KEY STATISTICS
- Six Blazers finished in double figures scoring with Isiah Brown leading the way with a team-high 26 points. Brown also added 5 rebounds on the night
- Brent Webber ended the night 2-5 from three-point range while finishing with 14 points.
- Tommy McCoy played well tonight on both sides of the floor as he led the Blazers with seven rebounds on the night. McCoy finished with 13 points and 3 assists.
- Rounding out the double figures scoring group Joshua Roberts finished with 12 points, John Works with 11 points, and Rick Hodum capped his night off with 10 points.
- Belhaven shot 44.1 percent from the floor as a team, while the Yellowjackets were able to shoot an outstanding 75 percent as a team from the field..
- The green and gold added 36 points in the paint and 10 points off of turnovers.

UP NEXT
Belhaven will stay home Saturday and face East Texas Baptist, in what will be another American Southwest Conference matchup. The two teams will tip-off starting at 4:00 p.m.
