CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The Belhaven women's basketball team earned a road victory Thursday evening, defeating the University of the Ozarks, 63-58, in American Southwest Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first two minutes of action, the Eagles quickly jumped to a 5-0 lead to start the game.

Alexis Caldwell got the Blazers on the board with a lay-up at the 8:00 mark.
- The Green and Gold did not go down without a fight, as they knotted up the game 9-9, with 6:04 remaining in the first quarter.
- The game went back and forth for the rest of the quarter, with the Ozarks having the slight advantage 20-16.
- The Blazers came out shooting and went on a 7-0 to bring the score to 23-20 with 6:50 remaining in the second frame.
- The Eagles finished the first half on a 13-2 run to bring the score at intermission 33-25 with the Eagles having the lead.

Lauren Brooks scored the first three points in the second half to cut the Eagles lead to 33-28.
- After a bucket from
Kelsey Brown from behind the arc, the Blazers were only down by two.
- With 3:01 remaining in the third quarter, the Ozarks extended their lead to 39-33.
- The Blazers found themselves down by nine points at the end of the third frame.
- In the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, the Eagles still held the advantage with a score of 56-47.
- The Green and Gold started to heat up at the right time and finished the game on a 16-2 run to defeat the University of the Ozarks, 63-58.
